Description

The White House is a house dating from the early 19th century. It is constructed of red brick with brick quoins and rendered window heads, and it was formerly whitewashed. The house features a slate roof with end stacks and has two storeys plus garrets. The front has a regular arrangement of three windows, which are glazing bar sashes with rendered flat arches, some of which have keyblocks, and panelled shutters. There is a bay window on the right side. The central entrance has a panelled door with a transom-light above it. A full-width conservatory, added in the late 19th century, spans the front of the house. The left side facing the road has one round-headed window with margin panes, a three-light window with a segment head on the ground floor, and a 1:2:1 oriel window above it. The building is included for its group value.
