Description

No. 36 Church Street is a cottage that originally dates back to the 17th century but has undergone significant renewal. The building is constructed of ironstone rubble with a rendered upper storey, which features dormers that are a recent addition. It has a cruck frame and a Welsh slate roof. The cottage has a three-unit plan and is 1½ storeys high. The entrance features a six-panelled door set in a moulded wood architrave, topped with a small canopy. The windows are renewed casements. To the left of the doorway, there is a stack that indicates the location of a former inglenook fireplace. Inside, two pairs of cruck blades are visible.
