Description
Hill Farmhouse and the attached stable range are a farmhouse and stable complex dating from the late 18th century to the 19th century. The buildings are constructed of red brick and feature a plain tile roof with three gable stacks and two ridge stacks, forming a T-plan. The farmhouse is two storeys high, with a 19th-century west front that includes a dentilled cornice. This front has four bays, with three on the right side arranged symmetrically around a central doorway that has a part-glazed four-panel door and an overlight, both set within a cambered arch. Flanking the doorway are single glazing-bar sashes with cambered arches, and to the left, there is a single three-light casement also with a cambered arch. Above, there is a two-light casement, with single three-light casements on either side, all of which are 19th-century features.
The attached single-storey range to the right is noted as not being of special architectural interest. The 19th-century north front consists of three bays, featuring a central doorway with a four-panel door and a cambered arch. To the left is a single two-light sliding sash with a cambered arch, and to the right is a single three-light casement with a cambered arch. Above, there are a two-light casement to the left and a three-light casement to the right, both with wooden lintels. The range to the right includes a two-light mullion and transom casement with a cambered arch, along with a three-light sliding sash above it, also with a wooden lintel. Attached to the left is a two-storey stable with a hayloft range, which features a dentilled cornice. Inside, the building has a queen strut roof with clasped principals and through purlins.
