Description

This is a railway boundary marker from the mid-19th century, made of cast iron. It stands approximately half a metre high, with a stem that swells into a flat, balloon-shaped top. The marker is inscribed with the letters "MR" in raised lettering. It is an unusual survival of a railway boundary marker, located by the side of the railway line on the south side of Warwick Road in Kibworth Harcourt.
