Description

Matthew's Cottage is a house that likely dates from the late 18th century. It is constructed from coursed ironstone rubble and has a Welsh slate roof. The building is two stories high and follows a three-unit plan. To the left of the entrance, which features a five-panelled door, there is one bay with a 3-light casement window. To the right, there are three windows consisting of a mix of 3-light and 2-light casement windows. The upper floor has five 2-light casements. Most windows have cambered brick heads, except for those in the right-hand bay, which have been replaced with flat timber lintels. The house has gable and axial stacks. There is also a single-storey addition to the right, which has one bay and includes a 2-light casement window.
