Description
The Village Hall, formerly known as the Congregational Chapel, was built in 1811. It features a red brick structure topped with a Welsh slate roof and consists of one storey. The front has two 12-pane windows, with the left window being top-opening. Similar windows are located at the rear of the building. On the right end, there is a door with a slate tablet above it. The inscription on the tablet reads: "FREE CHAPEL, Frustra laborat, qui omnibus placere studet. This House of prayer is set apart,/For all who join in hand and heart,/To worship GOD above:/Where party names shall cease to be,/and all shall join in unity,/To sing redeeming Love. Erected at the expense of George Hudson, A.D. 1811."
