Description
Goscote Hall is a large house built in the early 19th century. It is constructed of brick with ashlar sandstone dressings and has a Swithland slate roof. The building has two storeys and features three bays on each of its main fronts. The entrance front includes a central doorway set within a pedimented porch supported by Corinthian columns. The door is framed by a plain stone doorcase, which has a round arched fanlight above it and small windows on either side. The windows throughout the house are 12-light sashes with lugged stone architraves. There is a deep eaves cornice decorated with egg and dart moulding and stone angle quoins. A prominent feature on the garden front is a large canted bay window. At the rear, there is a service wing that has a modern extension added to its ground floor.
