Description
Rockyfield Cottage is a cottage built in 1908 by Ernest Gimson for Margaret Gimson. It is constructed from granite and slate rubble stone, topped with a Swithland slate roof and features lintels with left end and rear side stacks. The cottage is 1½ storeys tall and has a slightly curving plan. The front includes casement windows, with a door located to the center right, a 1-light casement to the right, and a 2-light window in the gable above. To the left, there are two 2-light windows and another 2-light window in the gable. On the extreme left, there is a stable-type door flanked by a 1-light window on either side. To the right of the front door, there is a 3-light window with a 2-light dormer above it, and on the right end, there is a 3-light window on both floors. The cottage also features a massive stack, two 2-light dormers, additional casements, and a door at the rear. Inside, much of the original woodwork remains intact.
