Description

Ivy Cottage is a house dating from the 16th or 17th century, which was altered and extended in the 19th century. It features a timber frame encased in stucco, painted cream, and has a hipped roof made of Swithland slate with two rendered brick ridge stacks. The building is two storeys high.

The entrance is not quite central, with a six-panelled door that has a lugged architrave and a fanlight with glazing bars above. This door is flanked by two modern three-light windows. On the first floor, there is a central blind panel with a modern three-light window to the left and a canted oriel window to the right. Inside, the hall and the right-hand front room have massive chamfered beams with decorative stops, while the room at the rear features beams with run-out chamfers.
