Description
No. 41 Main Street is a 17th-century cottage featuring square panelled timber framing with painted brick nogging and a part stone plinth. The roof is made of Swithland slate and has brick end stacks. The cottage consists of two bays, each with four panels high and three storeys of three renewed three-light casements. There is a central door topped by a later Swithland slate canopy. On the right end, a tie-beam truss with a collar is visible, along with two small one-light windows on the ground floor. The rear has casements and a 20th-century porch. Inside, the beams, inglenook, trusses, and braces are all visible, making it a well-preserved example of a timber-framed cottage.
