Description
The coach house at Swithland Reservoir Water Works was built in 1896 by Hawkesley of London. It is constructed of red brick with stone banding, featuring stone coped shouldered gables and a slate roof. The building has one and a half storeys, with a gable on the right side. On the left side, there is a 6/6 sash window, a pair of carriage doors, and a half-glazed door that is accessed by two stone steps. Above this, in the gable, there is another pair of carriage doors with a half-glazed door above. A single-light window is located on the left end. The rear of the building has an 8/8 sash window with a 4/8 sash window above it. On the roof, there is a lead and wooden open lantern supported by eight small columns, topped with a dome and a weathervane. The coach house is set in a park-like environment with a variety of trees and shrubs, and it has group value with other structures at Swithland Reservoir Water Works.
