Description

The Dower House is a large house dating from the early 19th century. It is constructed of stuccoed brick with a roof of Swithland slate. The main west-facing facade is set at a right angle to Brook Street and consists of a two-gabled range. A central doorway is recessed within a round arched opening, and to either side are bay windows. The window to the right is three-sided with curved angles, while the window to the left is a full bow, both featuring bowed sashes. There are tall sash windows above. The building has decorative barge boards. The front elevation overlooking the road includes four 12-light sashes, two of which are blocked, and a central axial stack.
