Description

This is a headstone located in the churchyard of St Mary the Virgin and St John the Baptist, Rothley. It dates to 1794 and is made of Swithland slate. The headstone is carved in low relief, depicting the collapse of Swithland Church on the day of the last judgement. Inscriptions are dedicated to William Hunt and his wife, Catherine. It stands approximately 10 metres east of the east end of the church.
