Description
The war memorial, dating from around 1920, is constructed of ashlar and Swithland slate and stands approximately 3 meters high. It is integrated into the rubble stone wall that surrounds the churchyard of St. Mary in the Elms, positioned opposite the east wall of the chancel. The memorial features two coped side sections and a central slate plaque, which is framed by stone moulding that rises around it, topped with a cross. There is a smaller plaque located beneath the main one. The memorial has group value with the church, Heanes' headstones, and Garat's Hay.
