Description
No. 37 Wide Lane is a house that was previously three houses, Nos. 33, 35, and 37. It dates from the 17th century and later. The building is raised on a very tall granite plinth and is two-storeys throughout. The original house is timber-framed, featuring angle struts and white painted brick infill panels. It has two three-light horizontally-sliding sash windows with glazing bars. To the right side, there is a one-bay brick extension with a raised brick band across the gable end and a rendered front. On the left side, there is an 18th-century brick cottage, which was probably originally separated from the timber-framed house by a gap in the plinth, along with a later one-bay brick extension at the extreme left. The entire house has a rendered front and a 20th-century pantile roof with dormers.
