Description
The coach house and stable at number 54, known as The Old Rectory, is a building that may have originally been a long barn, dating from the late 16th century to the 17th century, with modifications made in the 19th century. It is constructed of red brick with a granite rubble stone plinth, and the front has been whitewashed. The rear features four bays of square panelled timber framing. The roof is made of Welsh slate and has a brick ridge stack on the left. This long, one-and-a-half storey structure includes double doors, a stable door, and small windows, along with a small loft dormer located towards the centre right. The left end has a tie beam truss, and the roof consists of six bays with one truss formed by a pair of upper cruck blades.
