Description
Narborough House is a house dating probably from the late 18th century, with alterations and extensions made in the late 19th century and dated 1869. The front wing is rendered and colourwashed, with gable ends of colourwashed brick. It has a slate roof, wooden eaves on paired brackets, and flanking brick chimneys. The house is three storeys high, with four bays of 19th-century sash windows in plain reveals. The central entrance has a six-panelled door with a rectangular fanlight, a wooden surround, and a wooden cornice hood on cut scroll brackets. A lower two-storey bay to the right has a door, a garage entry, and a first-floor sash window. A lean-to conservatory extends from the left gable end, beyond which is a garden wall with a 19th-century stone doorway. This doorway features a four-centred arch with traceried spandrels and heraldic stops to the hoodmould. Rear extensions are of red brick with traceried stone windows, some with carved stone foliage. A date and monogram are carved in stone above the rear door. The house is included for group value.
