Description

This is a mid-18th century house, originally divided into three cottages, and altered in the 19th and 20th centuries. The exterior is white-washed brick with a granite plinth and a far gable wall. It has a thatched roof and brick chimneys situated between the left bays and to the right. The house has one and a half storeys and three bays. The outer bays feature three-light wooden casements with segmental heads on the ground floor; the window on the left is 20th century, while the one on the right dates to the 19th century. There are 20th-century two-light leaded casements set within the thatch eyebrows in the right bays. A 20th-century bay window with leaded glazing and a hipped roof forms a porch over a 20th-century door in the centre. A 19th- to 20th-century lean-to extends from the right end. The left gable, facing the road, contains a 20th-century bowed leaded window on the ground floor and a 20th-century two-light wooden casement above. All windows to the rear are 20th century. Inside, the house retains spine beams; some are part chamfered and stopped, with the central beam featuring a narrow chamfer and bar stops.
