Description
The Round Lodge is a lodge that has been converted into a house, built in the early 19th century, likely for the Hanson family of Catton Hall. It is constructed of red brick and features an octagonal hipped roof covered with plain tiles, which is adorned with a continuous band of fishscale tiles that rises to a central octagonal brick chimney. The building is two storeys tall and has an octagonal shape.
On the ground floor, there are pointed-headed openings on each side, with the front featuring a plank door set below a brick-filled pointed arch. Flanking this door are two-light casement windows beneath cement-rendered heads. There are also blocked pointed doors on either side. On the upper floor, there are two-light casement windows located above the front door and over the blocked door on the west side.
