Description
Hargate House Farmhouse is a mid-18th century farmhouse, altered in the early 19th century and with later modifications. It is built of rendered brick, with a steeply pitched plain tile roof, rendered brick coped gables, brick gable stacks, and a coved eaves band. A plinth and a first-floor plain band are also present. The farmhouse has two storeys plus garrets, and originally had three bays. A central 20th-century glazed porch shelters a raised and fielded panelled door with a divided overlight, set in a plain surround. There are glazing bar sashes to either side of the porch, and three similar windows above; all are fitted with shutters. The interior features inglenook fireplaces and chamfered ceiling beams.
