Description

Manor Farmhouse is a farmhouse dating from the late 18th century, with some minor later alterations. The building consists of two distinct sections, both made of red brick. The southern section features stone and gauged brick dressings, a stone plinth, a stone ground floor sill band, and a slate roof with stone-coped gables. It has brick gable stacks and a bracketed stone cornice with a central pediment. This part has three storeys plus a basement and three bays, with the central bay slightly advanced and pedimented. The northern section has plain brick dressings, a plain tile roof with a northern brick gable stack, a stone-coped gable, and a stepped eaves band. It is recessed, has two storeys, and two bays.

The main elevation of the southern section features a pedimented Tuscan columned doorcase with a semi-circular headed panelled door. On either side are glazing bar sash windows, and above them are three similar, shallower sashes. Above again are three further shallower similar sashes. All windows have flat gauged brick arches with stone keystones. The rear elevation includes a central circular basement window, a Venetian staircase window above, and sashes below flat arches. The main elevation of the northern section has a segment-headed doorcase to the south with a panelled door and divided overlight, along with two segment-headed casement windows to the north. Above are two similar windows. Inside the southern section, there is an open well staircase featuring three knopped balusters on each tread and newels made up of four similar balusters.
