Description
Grange Farmhouse is a farmhouse dating from the mid-18th century, with later additions in the late 18th century and alterations in the 19th century. It is constructed of red brick with a plain tile roof, brick coped gables with plain kneelers, and two ridge and two gable stacks. The building is two storeys and has an attic. A dentil eaves cornice runs around the top of the building, and a brick band is visible on the first floor.
The south elevation has four broad bays. An off-centre doorway is set within a painted doorcase and has a 20th-century glazed door. To the right of the doorway is a single light window, and further right are two three-light segment-headed windows. A similar window is located to the left. Above, four similar three-light windows are placed under segment heads. The proportions of the windows vary slightly. The attic has a row of blocked ventilation openings and three small single-light windows. A later parallel rear range has three-light segment-headed windows on both the ground and first floors, and a central four-light window above. An early 19th-century castellated porch has been added. Inside, the farmhouse features an inglenook fireplace and exposed beams.
