Description
The Lodge, originally part of The Cedars, is an early 19th-century building located on Main Street in Newton Solney. It is constructed of rendered brick that is lined to resemble ashlar and features hipped Welsh slate roofs with a central diagonally placed ridge stack. The building has two storeys and presents a three-bay west elevation with a tripartite composition, where the centre bay is taller and advanced.
On the ground floor, there is a central 2-light casement window set in a deeply chamfered surround, with a 2-light casement to the right and a plain doorway with a half-glazed door to the left. The first floor features a central paired casement window set in a stepped surround, flanked by square single light casements. The wing walls curve out on either side to enclose the front garden, which is topped with a ramped coped parapet adorned with ball finials. Additionally, there is a round-arched doorway to the left and a round-arched alcove to the right.
