Description
Gardener's House in Newton Park is a building dating from around 1860, possibly designed by Henry Stevens, who was involved with Newton Park. The house is constructed of red brick with ashlar dressings and features a hipped plain tile roof with a lateral circular stack that has lozenge decoration. It is a single-storey structure with an irregular plan made up of two angled squares.
The main elevation includes a pointed arched doorway with a chamfered surround set within a flat arch, featuring pierced spandrels. There is a pair of half-glazed doors with lancet lights and decorative glazing arranged in a pattern of circles within squares. To the left, a large three-light window with a flat arch showcases chamfered stone mullions, with pointed arches between them and short mullions rising from the apex of each arch, all featuring similar glazing to the doors.
On the side elevation, there is a two-light chamfered mullion window with Caernarvon arches. The rear range of the house is rendered and has a castellated parapet with a ball finial at the angle.
