Description
The White House is a Grade II listed building located on Park Lane in Weston-upon-Trent. This structure consists of two cottages that have been combined into one. Originally built in the 17th century, it underwent partial rebuilding in the 19th and early 20th centuries. The building features square panel timber framing set on a stone plinth, with plaster infill on the front elevation and painted brick on the other sides. It has a plain tile roof, which includes a large brick ridge stack and a brick gable stack on the south side.
The building stands two storeys high and has three bays. The street-facing elevation displays ten panels of timber framing, three panels deep, with corner braces on two posts at the central panel level; the upper panels are later additions. The entrance features a 20th-century panelled door with a timber hood, positioned slightly off-centre to the north. To the south of the door are two 20th-century single light windows, followed by a similar two-light window. Above the southern section, there is a 20th-century three-light casement window. The rear and side walls are made of brick and feature 20th-century casement windows. Inside, the property includes low chamfered ceiling beams and an inglenook fireplace.
