Description
No. 32 Trent Lane is a cottage dating from the 17th century, with alterations from the 18th century and late 19th century. It features a pebbledashed stone rubble and red brick exterior, topped with a red clay tile roof, which includes a brick ridge stack and dentilled eaves. The building is single storey plus an attic and has two bays with a lobby entrance plan.
The central doorcase is adorned with a large chamfered stone lintel and a plank door. To the west, there is a 3-light segment headed casement window, while to the east, there is a similar 2-light window, along with a small inserted 20th-century window beyond. Above, there are two 2-light horizontal sliding sashes in late 19th-century gabled roof dormers, with a small roof light situated between them.
Inside, the cottage features a winder staircase and chamfered ceiling beams. This building is included in the register for its group value only.
