Description

The outbuildings located to the southeast of King's Newton House date from the early 19th century and have undergone some later alterations. They are constructed of red brick on a stone plinth and feature a plain tile roof with a single brick ridge stack and a dentilled eaves band. The structure is two storeys high and consists of seven bays, highlighted by a tall gabled central bay. The central entrance has a depressed segmental arch with double plank doors, above which is a tall pigeon loft adorned with a dentilled pediment and a small circular opening.

To the south, there is a three-bay barn that has a central full-height opening, which is now partially filled in with corrugated iron. It also features a segment-headed window to the north, with a shuttered hayloft opening above and a line of breathers. North of the central doors are the stables, which include a segment-headed doorcase with a plank door flanked by diamond-paned, two-light windows to the south, and a semi-circular headed doorcase along with two segment-headed doorcases with plank doors to the north. Above the stables, there are two shuttered hayloft openings to the south and a 20th-century window to the north.

Attached to the south of the barn are two cowsheds that are of no particular interest, along with a rubble stone wall featuring two rusticated gate piers at the southern end. Inside the barn, there are two king post roof trusses, and the pigeon loft retains all of its original brick pigeon holes.
