Description
Castle Farmhouse and the attached barn date from the 18th and 19th centuries and underwent significant restoration and conversion in the 1980s. The buildings are constructed of coursed squared sandstone with gritstone dressings and feature slate roofs with stone ridges.
The farmhouse is two storeys high and has a three-bay facade, while the barn has two bays. The main entrance features a flush doorcase with chamfered edges and a 20th-century door. On either side of the entrance are two-light flush mullion windows. To the east, there is a 19th-century doorcase with a 20th-century plank door and a two-light flush mullion window beyond it. Above this, there are three similar windows, all of which have 20th-century single pane casements.
The attached barn to the west is lower and has a stone-coped gable. It features two chamfered quoined flush doorcases, each with inserted single-light windows to the east. Above the eastern door is a 20th-century two-light flush mullion window, and to the east, there are glazed breathers.
