Description
This is a pair of gate piers and a connecting wall located to the west of the Estate House, Cedar End, and North Side, which is the remaining south wing of Wingerworth Hall. They date from the early to mid-18th century. The gate piers are made of gritstone ashlar and feature chamfered rustication, arranged in alternating shallow and deep courses. They have a square plan and are topped with moulded cornices. The wall that links the piers is constructed from squared coursed rubble and has a triangular coping. Near the center of the wall, there is a stone that is carved with a heraldic crest.
