Description
This garden fountain, located 40 metres south-west of Renishaw Hall, is believed to date from the 18th century. It features an ornate three-tier fountain stem set within a moulded circular basin made of Veronese marble. The base of the stem is bell-shaped and has a projecting rim that carries four mask spouts. Above this, a chalice stem supports a mushroom-cap second tier, which also incorporates four grotesque mask spouts. At the top, there is a small fruit-laden urn. This fountain is one of a pair located in the upper garden level at Renishaw Hall.
