Description

A pair of cottages, dating from the 17th century with alterations in the 18th century. They are built of coursed sandstone with sandstone dressings, and have a plain tile roof with a brick gable end stack and a brick ridge stack. The north elevation has four bays. From left to right, the windows include a 2-light square section flush mullion window above a 2-light chamfered mullion window; a blocked single light fire window with cavetto moulding above a 2-light recessed chamfer mullion window with square section mullion, with a similar window above; a single light window with a flush stone surround above a single light window with a stone sill and lintel; and a 2-light square section mullion window above a 2-light window. A 20th-century door is also present. The cottage in the east half features a cruck truss, along with an elaborately moulded bressumer and heck post.
