Description
Six early 19th-century town houses, with later 19th-century additions and 20th-century alterations. The houses are constructed of coursed dressed stone with ashlar dressings, and have Welsh slate roofs, with hipped sections to the right. They feature stone-coped gables and ridge stacks. The houses are arranged over three storeys and have moulded eaves and bands marking the 1st and 2nd floors, with pilaster strips between the dwellings. Number 1 has a round-arched doorway to the right with a glazed door and fanlight, positioned above a round-headed sash window with a keystone, further above a small sash window. To the left, a three-storey canted bay window has segment-headed plain sashes and moulded cornices. Number 2 features three round-headed arches with keystones between two columns, the left arch containing double glazed doors and a fanlight, and the other two arches containing large windows. Above, there are three round-headed sashes with keystones, and above again three small sashes. Numbers 3 and 4, originally a single dwelling, have six round-headed arches with keystones and columns between, with two central doorways incorporating glazed doors and fanlights, and two flanking windows. Above the arches are three canted oriel windows with plain sashes topped with ornate iron grills, above which are three plain sashes. Numbers 5 and 6 each have three round arches with keystones, with a glazed doorway and fanlight to the left and two sashes to the right. Each house has a single 1st-floor oriel with plain sashes, and above again two plain sashes. The interior was not inspected. Attached to the front are low stone walls with chamfered coping, gate piers, some original iron railings and gates.
