Description
40 and 42 St John's Street is a building from the early 18th century. It is constructed of coursed stone rubble and stands three storeys high. The facade features a combination of three, two, one, and three mullioned windows, which have 19th-century casements without glazing bars. There are two identical doorcases, each framed by moulded stone architraves with semi-circular heads and fanlights that include "Gothic" glazing bars. The building has quoins at the sides, moulded eaves, and coped end gables with kneelers, topped with tiles. Nos 32 to 42 (even) are part of a group.
