Description
The Old Rectory is a late 18th-century building constructed from ashlar. It stands two storeys high and features four sash windows. On the right side, there is a plain pilaster doorcase topped with an entablature and a slight cornice hood. The east elevation is particularly attractive, showcasing two sash windows on the left above a three-light French window, all framed in moulded architraves with cornice hoods. To the right, there is an advanced wing with a later canted bay that includes three windows in moulded architraves. The building has stone stacks and a hipped slate roof, along with a later recessed wing on the left-hand side. The Old Rectory was built by Sir Richard Arkwright.
