Description

Cromford Station building on the east platform dates from around 1860 and is inscribed to G H Stakes. It is constructed of ashlar and is single-storeyed with four windows. The building features a steep slate hipped bellcast roof with a modillion eaves cornice, designed in the French Chateau style. At the center of the front, there is a pointed hipped turret with a small gable above a circular panel and a round arched doorway. The building is no longer in use. Cromford Station's main building, footbridge, building on the east platform, and Station Master's House form a group.
