Description
The Station Master's House at Cromford Station, built around 1860 and attributed to G H Stakes, is a two-storey structure made of ashlar. It features two 3-light mullioned windows with hood moulds that extend as bands across the facade. The house has a steep slate hipped bellcast roof with a modillion eaves cornice in the French Chateau style, along with two dormers that match this style. There are also stone stacks present. A rear wing is situated at a higher level and has a less steep roof. The Station Master's House, along with the main building of Cromford Station, the footbridge, and the building on the east platform, forms a cohesive group.
