Description
This barn, located 20 yards south west of Yeldersley Old Hall, was possibly originally built as a house in the mid-18th century. It is constructed of red brick with stone-coped gables and moulded kneelers, topped by a plain tile roof. The barn has two storeys and features a six-bay west elevation.
On the ground floor, there are five bricked-up windows with brick voussoirs and stone keystones. To the left, there is a blocked doorway with a segmental arch. A later doorway, also with a segmental arch, has a stepped surround and a plank door, along with a later square window opening. The upper floor contains six bricked-up windows with voussoirs and stone keystones, which interrupt the moulded stone eaves cornice.
The south elevation features a bricked-up window on the ground floor with a keystone and segmental arch, a window above with brick voussoirs and a stone keystone, a plank door, and a blocked semi-circular headed window in the gable. The rear elevation has several segmental arched windows, many of which are bricked up.
