Description

Lovatt's Yard 1 is an 18th-century house made of red brick, featuring stone bands at the first and second floor sill heights. The roof is covered with old tiles and has end chimneys. The building stands three storeys tall and generally has four windows. The windows are sashes with glazing bars, and there is one square window on the top storey that has cobweb glazing. The windows are topped with gauged flat arches that have keyblocks. The centre door has a moulded architrave, but the original doorcase is missing. There is a later addition to the north-east side, which has a three-storeyed facade with two windows. Lovatt's Yard 1 is part of a group that includes all the buildings in Lovatt's Yard, as well as the rear of Nos 21 and 22 Market Place.
