Description

This is an early 18th century building, with later additions, located on the north-east side of Market Place. It is constructed of red brick, with the southern bay featuring a tiled roof and a stone-coped gable end that may originally have been part of the adjacent building at number 12. A stone bracket supports the stone coping, and the brickwork below is slightly angled, marking the division between the earlier and later sections of the house. The later portion has a slate roof. The building is three and four stories high, all under a shared eaves line. It has two windows, with mostly sash windows lacking glazing bars, set beneath lintels with keyblocks. A shop front occupies the ground floor. The surrounding listed buildings in Market Place form a notable group.
