Description
Stud House is a house located on the Osmaston Manor estate, built in 1897 by A MacPherson of Derby. The structure is made of brick and features plain and fishscale tile hanging along with decorative timber framing. It has plain tile roofs, hipped over a canted bay, and stone dressings, with two brick ridge stacks. The house is two storeys high with irregular elevations.
The north elevation consists of three bays, with a brick ground floor that includes a central 4-light stone mullioned and transom window and a similar cross window to the right. There is an open porch in a cut-away corner to the left, supported by wooden posts with curved spandrels. The first floor features a decorative close studded timber framed centre bay with a canted oriel window, while the outer bays are tile hung and have 2-light wooden casement windows. Above the centre bay is an overhung timber framed gable.
The east elevation showcases a gabled tile hung bay and a deep canted bay, which has stone cross windows on the brick ground floor and 2-light wooden casement windows on the timber framed first floor.
