Description
The Tavern at Tansley, formerly known as the George and Dragon Inn, is likely from the late 18th century. It is built from coursed stone rubble and has three storeys. The facade features two windows with plain surrounds, fitted with 19th-century sash windows. There is a square-headed doorway with a quoined reveal and a small cornice above a deep lintel, along with quoins at the sides and coped end gables. To the left, there is a two-storeyed wing from the early to mid-19th century, which has two two-light mullioned windows in plain surrounds, plain eaves, stone stacks, and a slate roof.
