Description
Holywell House is an early 19th-century building located on Holywell Street. The main facades face southeast and northeast, away from the street. The southeast facade is constructed of ashlar stone and features an eaves band and a hipped slate roof. It is two storeys high with three windows, the northernmost window being blank on both floors. The windows are sashes with glazing bars, and the centre first-floor window has a stone architrave and a label.
The entrance is centrally located and includes a door with a segmental hood supported by a panelled frieze and two freestanding and two engaged Tuscan columns. The round-arched door is flanked by narrow windows and topped with a fanlight, leading to a six-panelled door.
The northeast facade has a triple-span hipped roof, with the centre span featuring a pediment. This facade is also made of ashlar stone and includes a plinth and sashes with glazing bars.
The street-facing or southwestern facade is constructed of red brick and has two windows on the first floor with stone lintels, as well as one window on the ground floor.
