Description
North Walls Farmhouse is a farmhouse dating from the 17th century to the early 18th century, with some 20th-century alterations. It is constructed of coursed squared sandstone, featuring sandstone dressings and quoins, and has a hipped and gabled Welsh slate roof. The building includes brick gable and lateral stacks, and the stone coped gables are supported by plain kneelers.
The farmhouse is two storeys high, with the south elevation displaying four symmetrical bays. The central doorway has a plain ashlar surround with a moulded dripmould and a panelled door. On either side of the doorway are two 19th-century casement windows, each set in plain 18th-century ashlar surrounds with a continuous lintel band. Above, there are four similar windows.
The east elevation has four irregular bays, featuring an off-centre doorway with a segmental arch within a moulded square frame, complete with a keystone and a panelled door. To the left of this doorway is a single light recessed and chamfered mullioned window, while to the right is a two-light recessed and chamfered mullion window, along with a 20th-century two-light casement in a plain ashlar surround. Above, there are three two-light recessed and chamfered mullioned windows, with the right-hand one missing its mullion.
