Description
Milford House Cottages, located on Derby Road in Milford, are 17th and 18th century coursed stone cottages. They may have originally been two separate buildings, with a linking center part added in the late 18th or early 19th century. The cottages feature tiled roofs and brick stacks, and are two storeys high. Number 1 has a moulded stone band that extends over the windows as a hoodmould. Numbers 1 and 3 retain plain stone window surrounds, while number 3 has a first-floor mullioned window, with the rest being small casements. In the 18th century, the cottages were known as "Mount Pleasant," as noted in a survey from 1792. The property is picturesque and includes a coursed stone coped garden wall.
