Description

Milford House is a large stone house built around 1777 by Jedidiah Strutt, who spent his final years here. It is set in elevated grounds above Derby Road. The main eastern elevation features a symmetrical design with ashlar stone and a slate roof. The building has two storeys and a window arrangement of 2-3-2 sashes, with the central three windows slightly advanced and set beneath a cornice. The ground floor includes jalousies, and there is a central round-arched doorway topped with an entablature and flanked by pilasters.
