Description

The Poplars is a house built around 1850, constructed of ashlar with a 20th-century concrete tile roof. The roof features moulded stone copings on gable ends supported by gableted kneelers, and there are external stone stacks topped with octagonal pots, along with a coved eaves band. The house has two bays and is a single storey with attics. A central gabled porch includes a large moulded 4-centre arched doorcase with a half-glazed door and a hoodmould. On either side of the porch, there are 3-light timber mullioned windows with diamond leaded casements and hoodmoulds, set in slightly advanced full height bays. Above, there are similar 2-light windows in gabled half dormers. The building is included for its group value.
