Description

This is a canal lock built in 1792 by William Jessop and Benjamin Outram. It is constructed from coursed squared stone and features a long stone basin with ashlar copings. There are indents at both ends for housing the gates, which are currently missing. This lock is one of the few remaining locks on the eastern end of the Cromford Canal.
