Description

The north-eastern range of farm buildings at Dalley Farm is an L-shaped structure dating from the early to later 19th century. It is built of ashlar with slate roofs. The northern building serves as a hay barn with an open front, featuring a roof supported by a pierced shallow arched iron beam and iron posts, with the ironwork dated 1857.

The corner building functions as an open-fronted cart shed. A double row of vents in the south wall indicates it may have also been used for storage. The north end of the roof is supported by a stone corbel, while the south end wall has been cut away to create an open corner for improved access. The overhanging roof in this area is supported by a massive iron bracket.

To the east, adjoining the rear wall of the cart shed, is a shelter shed at a lower level due to the sloping ground. This shelter shed features an arcaded front with stone pillars and corbels, although the end bays have been partly filled in with low stone walls.
