Description
The Herbert Strutt Public Baths and attached Caretaker's House, built in 1910, is an interesting L-shaped and asymmetrical structure located on Gibfield Lane. The building features rusticated stone and is set back from the street. The main baths building includes a large Venetian window with stone mullions in the gable end. There is a single-storey section at the front that has a capped end pier and a row of five single-light windows. The entrance features an advanced round-arched doorway with rusticated treatment and a plaque above it, with an additional window on the opposite side. The attached two-storey caretaker's house has a segmental pediment and two windows, including a square stone bay on the ground floor with a three-light casement window above. There is also a round window above the door, and the glazing throughout is generally leaded.
