Description
This is a stepped terrace of six cottages built in the late 18th century. The cottages are constructed from coursed squared gritstone with quoins and feature three intermediate brick ridge stacks. The roofs are covered with stone slates and plain tiles. The terrace has three storeys and consists of twelve bays, with two bays for each cottage. Each cottage has stacked 2-light flush mullioned windows that decrease in height from the ground to the second floor, along with a doorway bay that has a massive quoined surround, a plain plank door, and a single light opening above the door. Three of the cottages have single light openings on the second floor, which are 20th-century additions. Some window surrounds have been renewed in the 20th century. The windows generally feature casements with glazing bars, although some have been replaced with 20th-century versions that do not have glazing bars. At the rear, there is a central projecting wing with a coped gable and a parapeted four-bay addition.
